AmuwoCarol 2024: A Night of Worship, Unity, and Joy

The 16th AmuwoCarol, themed “TOGETHER” (Psalm 133:1), was a resounding success, despite initial technical glitches that caused a three-hour delay. Hosted at [insert venue], this year’s carol brought the Amuwo Odofin community together in an unforgettable night of worship, praise, and celebration. Organized by the Symphony of Praise (SOP) Initiative, now in its 19th year of existence, the event highlighted the power of unity and shared purpose.

Pre-Event: Children’s Party Brings Joy

The celebration began with a Children’s Party earlier in the day, themed “Joy.” From 12 PM to 3 PM, children enjoyed games, music, and activities, setting a cheerful tone for the evening’s festivities.

A Worship Experience Like No Other

The actual carol service, livestreamed on amuwocarol.sopinitiative.org and SOP’s YouTube channel, opened with an electrifying DJ set and hype session. Once the technical issues were resolved, the night unfolded into a deeply spiritual and engaging celebration.

Highlights of the program included:

  • Free Worship Sessions led by anointed ministers including Comfort Modi, Bola Zamar, and O Praise, setting hearts ablaze with worship.
  • Opening Montage by SOP Arts, creatively capturing the theme “TOGETHER.”
  • Carols and Readings: The SOP Music team, guest choirs from RCCG Hope Centre and CAC WOSEM, and Bible readings by pastors from various denominations brought the Christmas story to life.
  • Interactive Moments: The MC energized the audience with testimony sessions, karaoke, and interactive games.

Special Guest Performances

The event featured breathtaking performances from guest artists, including:

  • Ewa Sax, who dazzled the audience with a soul-lifting praise session.
  • Horner’s Music with instrumental carols.
  • Omoefe’s Phone Light Procession, a magical display of unity and light that captivated everyone present.
  • Powerful ministrations by David’s Praise, EOG, and Babatunmise, keeping the audience engaged into the early hours of Christmas morning.

Unity and Impact

In his Welcome Address, Oreoluwa Idowu, the MC, emphasized the importance of togetherness, aligning perfectly with the theme. The evening’s Community Prayer session led by Pastor Seyi Adegoke-Adeyemo focused on unity and peace for Amuwo Odofin.

Pastor Afolabi of Circle Church Global delivered a thought-provoking charge, inspiring attendees to live in the true spirit of Christmas: as lights shining together in unity.

A Message of Gratitude

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Seyi Ipinsokan, appreciating all attendees, donors, and volunteers who made the 16th AmuwoCarol a reality.
